  1. Dealing with a toxic and detrimental behavior without losing his/her temper or resorting to equally ignoble demeanor
  2. Handling a verbal or written dispute in a way that does not deprive him/her of dignity or peace of mind

III. Gaining the higher ground without inciting resentment and bitterness against her/him

  1. Strengthening resolution by adequately recognizing the available choices and the cost involved for each one
  2. Distinguishing between actual existing problems requiring solution and self-creating problems.
